The Facts

  • Start or End: I started at Keage subway station (Google Map Directions) and finished at the Eizan Ropeway Terminal (Google Map Directions), from here you can take the ropeway followed by the cable car to Yase-Hieizanguchi Train Station.
  • Length: 14.8km (9.2mi) in about 6hr
  • Grade: Medium to Hard. It is the Kyoto Trail, so it is well trodden, but there is plenty of going up and down (about 350m elevation up and down for Daimonji-yama and then about 700m elevation to Mount Hiei).
  • Date Walked: 17th of November 2017

The Story

Today I take on the Kyoto Trail from Keage to Mount Hiei. Along the way, I pass through temples, forest, Daimonji-yama and end back down to earth via cable car.
